This 60 minute deep tissue massage is designed to target problem areas beneath the surface. Specialized strokes and deep compression are combined to help alleviate "knots"  and various types of muscle soreness caused by stress and chronic pain.

Therapeutic Massage Techniques that we offer:

  • Deep Tissue - Deep muscle massage underneath the surface layer of the skin. This massage releases chronic patterns of tension in the body with slow strokes and deep pressure on contracted areas by following and going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia.

  • Myofascial Release - A soft tissue manipulation by using manual massage techniques for stretching the fascia and releasing bonds between fascia, skin, muscles and bones with the goal of eliminating pain, increasing range of motion and balancing the body. Fascia is located between the skin and the underlying structure of muscle and bone. It is a seamless web of connective tissue that covers and connects the muscles, organs and skeletal structures of the body. Muscle and fascia are united in forming the myofascial system.

  • Trigger Point Therapy - A method of therapeutic treatment in which "trigger points" or specific points of hyperirritability that have developed in stressed muscle tissues and often refer pain to other parts of the body, are isolated and eliminated through pressure techniques, muscle energy or direct manipulation and stretch methods.

  • Stretching - We call it the 'Ultimate Stretch' and its further information can be found here.

  • Stone Therapy - This is our 'Hot Stone Massage', click here for more info.

  • Reflexology - An organized system of points on the hands and feet that are thought to correspond to major joints and organs of the body. In reflexology the body is mapped on the hands, feet and ears. The body is divided into 10 longitudinal (vertical) zones, which run the length of the body from head to toe. To a reflexologist this is called "mapping the body". There are 10 zones, each finger and each toe representing the 10 zones that are used by the reflexologist to locate specific areas of the body. There are 7200 nerve endings in each foot; 2500 in each hand and 435 in each ear that corresponds to every part of the body. It is the nerve endings in the hands, feet and ears that send the message to the brain about stress or pain found in the body during a reflexology session. The brain then responds by producing endorphins, the body's natural pain reliever. The endorphins are then sent through the blood stream to the affected areas. Our version of Reflexology is called 'Solely Feet'.

Located in St. Charles, Missouri, 636 Massage practices massage therapy to focus on health and wellness.  Through massage, we help alleviate the effects of health conditions which include pain, stress and muscle injury.

The growing popularity of massage therapy in recent years has attracted greater attention to the profession and its practitioners by the media and the public. While this increased attention has resulted in a wider recognition of the many benefits of massage, occasionally some public figures attempt to link the practice of massage therapy to sexual activity.

Perpetuating this view not only demeans the profession of massage therapy, but also can threaten the physical safety of massage practitioners when an assumption is made that someone can demand sex from them.

636 Massage guarantees a professional massage experience in the St. Louis area.
